We are proud to announce our partnership with Lisa’s Army, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides comfort and encouragement to individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

Lisa’s Army was founded in 2013 by family and friends of Lisa Loonstyn-Golden. Lisa was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 20. She believed that no one should have to face cancer treatment on their own so recruited her friends and family to provide comfort and care for men, women, and children sharing her fight.

The organization began supplying personalized Comfort Care Packages to individuals battling any type of cancer, an effort that still continues today. Learn more about Lisa, her family, her friends, and the organization in this touching video.

“From the day she was diagnosed with cancer until she lost her battle with the disease, Lisa wanted to help people like her feel supported and maintain a positive outlook on life,” says Marie Loonstyn-Golden, Lisa’s mother and the organization’s Executive Director. “We continue her vision every day by providing individuals undergoing cancer treatment with inspirational cards, personal care items, tablets, gift cards, and other items that will encourage them during treatment and beyond. Companies like AIROS Medical help make these efforts possible, and we are excited to work with their employees who share our goal of helping people live more comfortably.”

AIROS Medical supports various organizations working to enhance the quality of life for patients battling lymphedema, a chronic disease, and venous complications. Many lymphedema patients have had or are currently battling cancer, as many times cancer treatment can lead to the onset of this condition. The company was looking for a local entity in the Greater Philadelphia area for its employees and their families to volunteer with regularly.

“Our team has a passion for helping others,” says Gerald Makoid, AIROS Medical’s CEO and president. “The nature of our business allows us to work every day to help improve the lives of others. When we met Marie and her team, and learned about how the organization was founded, we knew we had found a perfect fit. We look forward to working with Lisa’s Army for many years to come, and to provide the financial and volunteer support they need to expand their exceptional mission.”

AIROS Medical’s employees and families will collaborate with Lisa’s Army’s extensive team of volunteers on various activities and events, including providing items for and assisting with the creation of the Comfort Care Packages. Lisa’s Army also holds various annual events, including a walk, a golf outing, and a large fundraiser.
