AIROS Medical was pleased to present its line of compression therapy devices to attendees at the 2019 Symposium for Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) Spring Conference on May 8-10.

Over 1,000 wound care nurses, physicians, physical therapists, lymphedema therapists, home healthcare professionals, and university researchers came together in San Antonio for the event. AIROS Medical spoke with hundreds of clinicians about their interactions with patients in their wound centers who suffer from lymphedema, venous insufficiency, venous ulcers, and swelling.

“We are thrilled with the conversations we were able to have with various types of healthcare providers at SAWC Spring,” says Michael Allerton, vice president of sales for AIROS Medical. “We had the privilege of discussing our devices and treatment methods with wound care nurses and physicians from across the country. We look forward to following up on our various conversations and working with our durable medical equipment partners to provide more patients with access to compression therapy.”

AIROS Medical Bear
AIROS Medical’s stuffed bears – tagged with a business card that read “Making Compression Therapy BEARable” – were once again a hit at the conference.

Wound care professionals typically see multiple patients with chronic lymphedema and venous complications in their facilities each week. Many times their patients’ wounds are present on the calf, such as with a venous ulcer. Compression therapy, delivered through devices like the AIROS 6 and AIROS 8 and their respective garments, can help move fluid to reduce swelling and give wounds a better chance to heal.

AIROS Medical once again gave away stuffed bears to attendees who visited the booth. Each bear was tagged with a business card reading, “Making Compression Therapy BEARable.”

AIROS Medical attended the 2018 SAWC Fall event in Las Vegas, as well. The company will attend the 2019 SAWC Fall event, again in Las Vegas, as well as the 2020 SAWC Spring event in San Diego, California.
